The famous Alderton Ham Half Boneless is a succulent sweet ham, steamed and baked with a traditional Marmalade glaze to a secret recipe.
The Alderton Ham was first created by Colonel Dickenson, a retired officer of the Royal Ulster Rifles, in the village of Alderton. And this is why it has the name Alderton. His recipe for this deliciously moist and succulently sweet ham has been passed down through the generations but never altered and has always been kept secret.
The ham is still made today as Colonel Dickenson originally created the recipe. It is steamed and then baked with a Marmalade glaze to the secret recipe created by the colonel. It is this that makes the Alderton Ham a firm favourite with discerning ham lovers across the country.
